STANDING COMMITTEE ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND PEACE
University of Nigeria Medical Students Association
20th June is recognized as World Refugee Day. This year’s World Refugee Day came with the theme “TOGETHER WE HEAL, LEARN AND SHINE”. University of Nigeria Medical Students Association under the umbrella of Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace, celebrated refugees in Enugu State.
SCORP – UNMSA collaborated with National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and IDPs to celebrate these unique people in our state.
SCORP – UNMSA carried out an impactful medical outreach on the 19th of June.
During the Medical Outreach
– We carried out Medical Checks
– Distribution of Food Items and Other Essentials
– Clothes
– Medical Talks
– Psychosocial Counselling
– And Refreshments.
In order to celebrate their strength and courage, We were live on Solid FM(Radio Station) to celebrate them on the 20th of June. Online Awareness was not left out too.
The experience was filled with impactful lessons and we are also glad that lives were touched in all ramifications within our reach.
