🗞️Medikka is a recognized, peer-reviewed annual international journal published in English by the University of Nigeria Medical Students Association (UNMSA) at the College of Medicine of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, Nigeria.

🗞️In line with this year’s theme: COVID-19: Telemedicine and Revolutionary Healthcare, the MEDIKKA editorial board hereby calls for articles for publication. The following categories of manuscripts will be accepted for publication:

▪️ Research Articles: Original research concerning any aspect (e.g. aetiopathogenesis, diagnosis, management and prevention) of disease. Animal research contributions of relevance to human health are also welcome. Abstract required. (maximum 4,000 words).

▪️ Reviews including meta-analyses: detailed, systematic and critical evaluation of the literature on a specified clinical problem. Reviews should include information such as type of studies and the selection process. (maximum: 3,000 words).*

▪️ Short Communications and Case Reports: These may be unique case reports, clinical experiences and short reports of original research. (maximum: 1,500 words).


▪️All articles received are subjected to peer-review by the Medikka Editorial Consultants’ Board and/or invited assessors.

▪️Manuscripts MUST be in accordance with the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)

▪️Referencing must be done using the Vancouver Style (1998). In this format a consecutive number is allocated to each source as it is referred to for the first time (this appears as a superior number in the text or as a number in brackets). This number becomes the unique identifier of that source and if the source is referred to again the same number is repeated.

▪️Papers should be typewritten (original copy) with double spacing throughout, except for quotations.

▪️On a sheet separate from the text, the following should be typewritten:
a. Running Title (of not more than forty characters)
b. Title of Article / Paper.
c. Name, Address, Qualifications and Departmental Institutional Affiliation of the Author(s).
d. References following the Vancouver Style.
e. Tables and Illustrations.
f. Key words for indexing (three to six).
g. Original and Research articles should contain an abstract of 150-250 words.

🗞️The Editor reserves the right to shorten and correct the articles received (in consultation with the Editorial Consultants) without altering the subject matter of the articles.
